Tournament
Held at New Pizza Hut Park in Frisco!
Many of the games
at the Plano Labor Day Tournament will be held at the Pizza
Hut Park in Frisco! Pizza Hut Park is a $65 million soccer-specific
stadium and soccer complex featuring a 21,193-seat stadium (new home of
FC Dallas) and 17 tournament-grade fields for youth and adult soccer,
as well as high school sports and other events. Tournament games will
also be played at Carpenter, Russell Creek and High Point soccer complexes.
Friday
Referee Meeting
On Friday, September
1, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, a Referee Meeting will take place at the Hilton
Dallas Lincoln Centre Hotel (5410
LBJ Freeway, Dallas, Texas, 75240).
- Food and refreshments
will be available following the Referee meeting on Friday
- Schedules, Coins
and T-Shirts will be distributed (if you cannot attend on Friday, stop
by Hospitality Suite on Saturday or Sunday to pick up coins and t-shirts)
- Out of Town Referees
- If you arrive after 10 PM, your schedule will be at the Hospitality
Suite. Receipt of your schedule is confirmation of tournament attendance.
- Winners of multiple
prizes donated by OSI will be notified
- OSI Referee equipment
and gear will be available for sale
Requirements
and Rules

Rules Listed on PYSA Site
- Maps
to all the fields are located on the PYSA site
- You must be currently
registered for 2006.
- You must be at
least a Grade 8.
- If you are NOT
from the North Texas area - you must contact your SRA.
- If you do NOT reside
in the USA - written permission is needed from your association.
- Uniform color should
be appropriate for the teams that are playing (the blue uniform jersey
is preferred). All referees must wear the same color during a game.
- Remember to check
in with the Field Coordinator 30-45 minutes before your game.
Transportation
- Transportation
will be provided to and from the hotel and all complexes.
- The Plano Labor
Day Invitational Tournament will provide transportation to and from
the airport on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. If your flight doesn't
fall on these days please contact PYSA and we will do our best to accommodate
you.
Referee
Information
As a Plano Labor Day
Tournament referee, you can expect world-class treatment!
- HOTELS
– The tournament provides a limited number of "comp" rooms
on a first-come, first-serve basis for out-of-town referees. However,
even those referees that don’t get a free room will pay no more than
$25 per night. You must send in a $50 deposit to hold your room (if
you get a free room, it will be reimbursed). Send money to:

- FOOD
– At the main hotel, the Hospitality Room will be available each night
of the tournament. At the fields, breakfast, lunch and other food is
provided to our referees. You’ll NEVER be hungry!
- MONEY
– Referees will be paid at the complex for all games.
- FREE STUFF
– Of course, all referees will receive a Plano Labor Day T-Shirt and
a Commemorative Referee Tossing Coin! Also, OSI will be donating over
$500 in merchandise to be drawn at Friday Night's Meeting. You’ll always
return home with more than great memories and you’ll have plenty to
talk about for months after the tournament!
Scholarship

Plano
Labor Day Tournament raises funds so that the Plano Youth Soccer Association
can award college scholarships to area youth who have participated
in soccer activities through Plano Youth Soccer or Plano Schools.

The
Don Collins Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Mr. Don
Collins, who died of cancer. Mr. Collins was an original founder of
the Plano Youth Soccer Association and served as President of the
Association.

The
Tournament has set up a non-profit trust fund for the scholarships
to be distributed on an annual basis. The Scholarships are awarded
in the spring to graduating seniors from all three Plano Senior High
Schools.
